The Sandhills Flyers 5K is a trail run event held at Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst, North Carolina. The course begins on the college campus and proceeds through the nearby Southern Pines Reservoir Park. The 5K route is officially certified by USA Track & Field (Certificate #NC22019BDS). Professional race timing is provided by Gate City Timing Company.

Registration and Logistics

The race registration fee is $30. Participants who register by September 5 are guaranteed a race t-shirt. In-person registration and packet pick-up are available on the day before the race at Pace Yourself Run Co. in downtown Southern Pines, or on-site at the college on race morning. The event will proceed regardless of rain, though it may be delayed or modified due to severe weather.

On-Site Activities

The event features several amenities and activities, including a pre-race warm-up, and pre- and post-race massages provided by the college's Therapeutic Massage program. There will be food and beverage trucks, a 360-degree photo booth, and custom cookies available. The event is dog-friendly and includes story-time and activities for children, hosted by the college's Early Childhood program. After the race, Sandhills Flyers Volleyball matches are scheduled.
