Hinson Lake 24 Hour Ultra Classic
Rockingham, United States • 26-27 Sep 2026
Event overview
The 2026 Hinson Lake 24 Hour Ultra Classic is scheduled for September 26-27, 2026 in Rockingham, North Carolina. The event is the 20th annual running of the 24-hour race at Hinson Lake, held at 152 Hinson Lake Road. Race entry is listed at $35. The field limit is 500 entrants; a wait list will be used once the cap is reached and activated waitlist entries have 48 hours to complete registration. The event is USATF sanctioned.
Course and race logistics
Runners complete laps on a 1.5032-mile inner loop that circles Hinson Lake. The course is USATF certified (NC14103DF) and follows a sand/gravel-maintained trail through the woods. The route crosses more than 16 small wooden foot bridges, including a 300-foot bridge over the lake. The trail will be marked on race day and chem-lights will be used at night. The race will be electronically timed; each participant receives a bib with timing chip that must be worn at all times. There is a runners-only chute and participants taking breaks must avoid the lap-counting area. All pacers must be registered entrants.
Parking, awards and policies
Parking along the entrance road is restricted to the east side to allow emergency access. Main lodge parking is limited and first come/first serve; additional parking is available at the South lot accessed from Crow Run and at the Moose Lodge, which also offers RV spaces (free; donations accepted). Awards include overall first-place male and female for the 24-hour and 100/K events, separate awards for MTC members, and a 100/K medal for all participants who surpass that distance. Entries are non-refundable, non-transferrable, and there are no deferrals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
