The Uwharrie Gold Rush is a 50K trail race held in the Uwharrie National Forest near Mt Gilead, NC, using the Wood Run Trailhead. The course uses a 20.5 mile figure-8 loop of technical trails with roots and rocks under a forest canopy. Runners complete the southern portion of the figure-8 first (11.5 miles) and then a full loop (20.5 miles) to finish. Pacers are not allowed. There is a 12 hour finish cutoff due to the technical nature of the course.

Registration and policies

Field size is limited to 50 runners. Registration closes on Oct 11, 2025, and runners who register by Sept 15 are guaranteed their chosen shirt size. Refunds of 50% are available for withdrawals made by Aug 31, 2025; no full refunds or bib transfers will be offered. Deferment requests are considered until Oct 1, 2025, and a single deferment may be granted; certain serious life circumstances may receive 100% credit toward the following year. Athletes under 18 must have parental consent entered on UltraSignup; no athlete under 16 will be allowed to run the 100 mile, 100K, or 50K events.
