Naked Mountain Ultra - March 6, 2027
The Naked Mountain Ultra is a trail event at Morrow Mountain State Park in Albemarle, NC, organized by OMR Ultra. The event offers multiple course distances:
- 50 Mile
- 25 Mile
- 10 Mile
The 25 Mile course is a single loop that includes rugged terrain and fast, flowing sections with scenic vistas. 50 Mile runners complete that loop twice. The 10 Mile course is an out-and-back on singletrack intended to showcase the mountain’s terrain.
Aid and support vary by distance. 25 and 50 Mile runners have access to four fully stocked aid stations and one unmanned hydration station. 10 Mile runners pass aid stations three times on the out-and-back. Drop bag service is available for 25 and 50 Mile runners at the top of Morrow Mountain, about 11 miles into the course; staff will transport bags to and from that location.
Pacer and crew rules differ by distance: pacers are allowed for 50 Mile runners only after their first lap, and crew may be positioned on the course so long as they are not intrusive or unsafe. 50 Mile runners have a 15-hour overall time limit and must begin their second loop within 7.5 hours of the race start; 25 and 10 Mile runners do not have a strict cutoff.
Logistics note: race packets are picked up at the start/finish area on race morning. Parking is at the Morrow Mountain Pool Parking Lot. Porta-jons are located at the start/finish and the Bridle Trail Aid Station, and plumbed restrooms are on top of Morrow Mountain. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
