About the race
The Naked Mountain Ultra is a trail event at Morrow Mountain State Park in Albemarle, NC on March 6, 2027. It offers multiple distances on mountain singletrack and mixed terrain at the park.
Course formats:
- 50 Mile course is two laps of the 25 Mile loop.
- 25 Mile loop features rugged terrain and fast flowing scenic sections.
- 10 Mile is a scenic out and back on singletrack.
Support and logistics are provided along the routes. 25 Mile and 50 Mile runners have access to four fully stocked aid stations and one unmanned hydration station. 10 Mile runners pass aid stations three times on the out and back. Drop bag service is available for 25 Mile and 50 Mile runners at the top of Morrow Mountain, roughly 11 miles into the course, with transport handled by event staff. Pacers are permitted for 50 Mile entrants after they complete the first lap; crew may support runners from nonintrusive locations on course.
Time limits are specified for longer entrants: 50 Mile runners have 15 hours to finish and must begin their second lap within 7.5 hours of the race start. Packet pickup occurs at the start/finish area on the morning of the event. Parking is at the Morrow Mountain Pool Parking Lot. Restroom options include porta jons at the start/finish and Bridle Trail Aid Station and plumbed facilities on top of Morrow Mountain.
