Ultratrax Massanutten

Ultratrax Massanutten is a single-day endurance walk on April 17, 2027 in Massanutten, VA. The event uses a roughly 7 mile loop on the western slope; participants may complete one to four loops for distances of 7, 14, 21, or 28 miles and must finish within ten hours to earn event awards.

The western slope loop mixes flowing singletrack, wide doubletrack, mountain-bike lines, and fire roads with about 553 feet of elevation gain on the smaller loop. Two course options are offered: a western slope route for beginner and intermediate participants, and an optional advanced final segment along the ridgeline and ski slopes that adds steeper elevation changes and technical rock scrambles. The advanced ridgeline option is open only in safe weather and may close if conditions are wet; there are no aid stations on that final ridge segment.

Participants may walk, hike, or ruck and choose vest weights of 10, 20, or 35 pounds. Event support includes clearly marked trails, professionally timed tracking, staffed and stocked aid stations on the main loops, professional event photography, shuttle service to the start, and parking near the finish. Registrants receive a commemorative patch and finisher shirt, with the Grey Wolf Medal awarded for completing three or four loops. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
