Ultra-Trail Grizedale

Ultra-Trail Grizedale is a multi-day trail running event held at Bowkerstead Farm in Grizedale Forest, located within the Lake District. The event features two distinct races over a single weekend, utilizing wild footpaths and technical singletrack with steep climbs and descents. The venue provides camping facilities, hot showers, and washing areas for participants.

The event includes the following race options:

  • 8 Hour Trail Relay: A Saturday event where participants complete laps of a 7 km forest loop.
  • 22 km Trail Race: A Sunday race consisting of two laps of an 11 km forest circuit.

The Saturday 8-hour relay is open to solo runners, pairs, and teams of three to five people. Participants aim to complete as many laps as possible within the designated time window. On Sunday, the 22 km race is conducted as an individual effort; however, for those registered as pairs or teams, individual finishing times are combined to determine a collective rank.

Participants have access to fully marked and marshalled routes, professional live timing, and medical support. The weekend also includes talks from runners, an equipment demo stand, and catering vendors. Attendees can choose between full weekend tickets, which include camping on Friday and Saturday nights, or single-day race entries. The minimum age for participation is 16 years old.
