The route uses a new line through fields and ascends to the windmill. The course begins with a lap of the showfield, proceeds a short distance along the road, then turns left across fields. It comes out on to a road, turns right and follows a track up towards the windmills. Senior and junior routes are provided. The event counts as a BOFRA Championship counter.

The principal race distance is 3.45 miles / 6.00 km with 750 feet / 240 meters of climb. Age categories include Under 9, Under 12, Under 14, Under 17 and Seniors.

BOFRA members may camp on the gala field on Friday and Saturday nights at a stated charge of £20 per family per night. Runners who do not camp are asked to park in the field near the bottom of the road behind the shop. A race map and a race profile are noted as not available.
