The race takes place on Saturday 27th June 2026. It starts with a lap of the showfield, goes up a road for a short distance, turns left across fields, and then follows a track towards windmills.

The course covers 3.45 miles (6.00 km) with 750 feet (240 meters) of climb.

The event is part of the British Open Fell Runners Association (BOFRA) Championship. Age categories include Under 9, Under 12, Under 14, Under 17, and Seniors.

The location is the Sports field, Beckside, Kirkby-in-Furness, Cumbria LA17 7TG, on the A595. BOFRA members can camp on the gala field on Friday and Saturday night for a fee.
