Blencathra Fell Race

Blencathra Fell Race is a category 'AM' fell race near Mungrisdale, CA11 0XR and acts as a counter in the 2026 English Fell Running Championships. The course distance is 13K with 825m of ascent and the classic route will be enforced. The first ascent to CP1 will be partially marked.

Entry is managed through SiEntries; entries open 27 April 2026 and close 26 June 2026. Minimum age is 18 on the event date. Entry fees are listed as £16 for FRA members and £16 for non-members. Event registration includes number collection, kit check and toilets.

Parking and registration take place at Low Beckside Farm. Event registration is approximately a 10 to 15 minute walk from the race start; participants should allow time to reach the start after registration. Participants must follow the instructions of marshals and signs on arrival and should only park at the designated farm area to protect local arrangements.

Navigation skills and competent mountain-craft are required. The organisers advise that the race is not suitable for those without confidence in looking after themselves on the fells in poor conditions. The event is organised by Eden Runners.
