Blencathra Fell Race

Blencathra Fell Race is a category AM fell race and a counter in the 2026 English Fell Running Championships. The course measures 13K with 825 m of ascent and follows the enforced "classic" route. The first ascent to CP1 will be partially marked.

The event takes place at Mungrisdale, CA11 0XR. All parking is at Low Beckside Farm on the approach to the village, and registration is located at the farm. Event registration covers number collection, kit check and toilets, and is approximately a 10 minute walk from the race start; allow 10 to 15 minutes to reach the start from registration. Participants should follow the instructions of marshals and signs on arrival.

Entries are currently full; new entries are placed on a waiting list. Waiting list entrants register as normal and do not pay immediately; if a place becomes available the organiser will invite the entrant to complete payment.

Competent navigation skills and mountain-craft are required. The organiser advises that the race is not suitable for those unfamiliar with the risks of high fells or without the ability to look after themselves in poor conditions.
