Ultra Sweaty Santa

Healthy Futures Pulaski County organizes Ultra Sweaty Santa at The Elbow Inn in Devils Elbow, Missouri. This is the ninth annual edition of a six-hour endurance event held as a Christmas-in-July gathering. Entry to the event is free and donations are accepted to benefit Operation Christmas Child.

Participants may run for a short period or for the full six hours; stated options include running for about 30 minutes, three hours, or for the entire event. The course follows a shaded crushed-gravel loop alongside the Big Piney River just off Old Route 66. One stocked aid station will be available on course, so participants are advised to bring a portable hydration device.

Distances offered:

  • 6-mile crushed gravel loop
  • 3-mile loop option

Prizes are planned for the best costume and for the overall male and female finishers with the most miles. For runners on the longer loop there is an additional recognition titled Queen and King of the hill for the person who traverses the main turnaround hill the most times. After running, a private beach behind The Elbow Inn is available for cooling off. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
