Ultra Sweaty Santa - Devils Elbow, Missouri

Ultra Sweaty Santa is a July endurance event held in Devils Elbow, Missouri, in the vicinity of The Elbow Inn and Teardrop Road. The format is a six-hour endurance race with options for shorter participation periods, including 30 minutes and three hours. The event is free to enter; donations are accepted to benefit Operation Christmas Child, and participants may contribute money or a packed shoebox.

The course follows shaded crushed gravel loops alongside the Big Piney River near Old Route 66. Two loop options are offered:

  • 6 mile crushed gravel loop alongside the Big Piney River
  • 3 mile loop option on crushed gravel

There are two aid stations on course: one fully stocked and one that provides water only, so organizers note that a portable hydration device is recommended. Prizes are awarded for best costume and for the overall male and female finishers determined by total miles. For those using the longer loop, additional recognition is given to the participants who traverse the turnaround hill the most times, titled Queen and King of the hill. A private beach behind The Elbow Inn is noted as a place to cool off after running. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
