Tuthell 50K
Sioux Falls, United States • 2 May 2026
Event Overview
The TutHell 50K is a unique running event where participants complete a 50 km distance by running a single loop 100 times.
Course Details
The course is a 0.31-mile loop on Tut Hill. Each loop involves approximately 90 feet of elevation gain and 90 feet of elevation loss on a grassy surface. The route is a single track and will be marked.
Registration & Entry
Entry into the event is not through standard registration. Instead, prospective runners must submit an essay on the official race website explaining why they want to run. An essay submission window is open from December 1, 2025, through April 22, 2026. The event committee reviews submissions and selected applicants receive an invitation to register.
There is no traditional registration fee. Selected entrants make a pledge to a charitable fund. These pooled donations are split between the charities chosen by the male and female race champions. The event has a fundraising goal.
Event Logistics
The race has a 12-hour cutoff. All entrants are expected to remain until the last runner finishes or the cutoff time passes. Runners are asked to bring one support person. Trekking poles are allowed.
A fully stocked aid station is located at the top of the hill. Runners are encouraged to bring their own race nutrition. The event features official chip timing and live tracking. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
