Race format and logistics
Entry is by essay-only selection; the race committee reviews essays and chosen entrants receive an invitation link to register. Registration opens February 1, 2026. The registration fee operates as a free-will donation; 100% of collected fees go to the nonprofit designated by the event winner(s), and nonprofits are vetted by the race committee. A fully stocked aid station will be located at the top of the hill by the bathrooms/storm shelter; runners are encouraged to bring personal race fueling. Entrants are expected to stay until the last runner either drops out or misses the 12-hour cutoff. Runners are asked to bring one support person; support people have access to snacks and may have beer. Official chip timing and live tracking will be provided through UltraSignup.
