TutHell 50K is an essay-based ultramarathon held in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Runners tackle a 0.31-mile grassy loop up Tut Hill 100 times, totaling about 31 miles with roughly 9,000 feet of cumulative elevation gain and the same amount of descent. Trekking poles are allowed, and the course is well marked with a hilltop aid station offering snacks; participants may bring a support person.
Entry is by committee review of essays, with invited competitors receiving a link to register. The event uses a Free Will Donation model, pledging 100% of entry fees to the winner’s chosen non-profit (top male and top female). Live tracking is provided via UltraSignup.
