TutHell 50K in Sioux Falls has runners complete a 0.31 mile loop on Tut Hill 100 times, with chip timing, live tracking and a charity donation model. Entry is by essay selection and selected entrants receive an invitation to register.

June 2026

Trail races on the Mickelson Trail between Rochford and Deadwood, South Dakota on June 6 to 7, 2026, including marathon, half marathon, five person relay, 5K and kids 1K; fields are limited and fees vary by date.

A multi-distance trail event near Sturgis, SD featuring a roughly 108-mile 100M plus 50M, 50K and 30K courses on the Centennial and Deerfield trails, with aid stations, drop bag options and bused starts. Held under USFS and BLM permits.

July 2026

A last runner standing backyard ultra at Big Hill near Spearfish, SD, with 4.167 mile laps and about 375 feet of elevation change per loop. Trails are wide and the event is hosted by a local non profit running club.

A looped trail event at Newton Hills State Park near Canton, SD, offering 20K, 30K and 50K distances on a 10 km loop with substantial climbs and regular aid. Time cutoffs are enforced and part of the course shares horse trails.
