The Big Sioux Rec Trail Race takes place on September 26, 2026, at Big Sioux Recreation Area in Brandon, South Dakota. The event offers multiple distances:

Races run on a mix of paved bike trail and dirt/grass trails that traverse prairie, wooded areas, and a bluff with views over Brandon. Start and finish are by the main picnic shelter and playground. The park has a vault toilet and an additional port-a-potty will be provided.
The event is part of a trail race series organized by Run Sioux Falls and uses chip timing provided by 605 Running Company. Because the courses are inside the Big Sioux floodplain, routes could be altered or races canceled if heavy rainfall affects the park.
Entry pricing listed for the event is $40 for adults through the registration cutoff and $15 for participants 18 and under. The series has updated age divisions to include 50-59 and 60+ and will award points per division across races, with points allocated from 10 points for first place down to 1 point for tenth place.
