Event overview

Turkey Trot 4K is a community running and walking event in Caldwell, ID, presented by Canyon Track Club. The event revives the local Turkey Trot tradition originally run by the Boise Striders. It is organized as a fundraiser to support youth athlete development, with proceeds directed to junior and regional track and cross-country opportunities. Registration for the event is not refundable and not transferable. Registration closes on Wed, Nov 19 (local time).

Course, format and logistics

The event distance is 4K (about 2.49 miles). The course is mostly soft surface on grass, running around the athletic complex and through the outfield area of the softball fields before moving onto the track. The start line is behind the press box on grass; the 2K mark is reached on the track where team tethers are dropped, and the finish line is on the track. Participants may enter as solo runners or walkers. Team entries consist of four members who run tethered together for the first 2K and then complete the final 2K individually; team scoring uses places and all four members score. Packet pickup is available on the morning of the event near the start area. Vallivue Athletic Complex does not permit pets on the grounds. Refreshments and event socks are provided, and entrants must be present to win contests or raffles. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
