Foothills XC12K : Boise Foothills trail races
The Foothills XC12K takes place in Boise, Idaho, on August 22, 2026, at the Fort Boise Park Military Reserve Trail System. The event offers two distances:
- 5K
- 12K
Both distances start and finish at the same location. Participants may run or hike either race. The event includes packet pickup before race day at Fleet Feet Meridian and Fleet Feet Nampa, with limited race day pickup available for those unable to collect packets in advance.
Funds raised from the event will benefit the Bogus Basin Nordic Team and support development of Nordic skiing in the Treasure Valley. Cash prizes of $50 will be awarded to first-place finishers in each division male, female, and non-binary in the 12K, and $50 will be awarded to King of the Mountain in each division. There will not be official age group awards; a raffle based on bib number will take place after the event.
Organizers note that the race course or date could change due to wet conditions to protect the trails. Because of possible congestion, parking near the Fort Boise Community Center is recommended. Results and photos for the 2026 event will be posted after race day. A volunteer program includes a donation of $25 per volunteer back to a participating organization through the event giveback program. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
