Tunnel Hill 100 & 50 Mile Runs - Vienna, IL
The Tunnel Hill event on November 14, 2026 is a multi-distance ultrarunning meeting organized by Durbin Race Management in Vienna, Illinois. The event uses a certified course on the Tunnel Hill State Trail and includes national championship status for the USATF 50 mile race.

The course starts and finishes at Vienna City Park and follows the Tunnel Hill State Trail. Runners head south to the Henry Barkhausen Wetlands Center at 13.1094 miles, then north 25 miles to a northern turnaround, and return to Vienna for a 50-mile loop; repeating the loop yields the 100-mile course. The certified 100 km turnaround lies about 6.06855 miles past the first southern aid station. The trail surface is crushed limestone over a dirt bed; the route includes trestles and a tunnel that 50 km and 50 mile runners pass twice and 100 mile runners pass four times.
Time limits and rules are specified: 30-hour limits apply to 100 mi, 100 km, and 50 mi, and 100 milers must begin the second 50 in under 15 hours. Pacers are permitted with event and USATF restrictions; aid must come only from designated stations. USATF championship entrants must be U.S. citizens and current USATF members to be eligible for awards.
Prize and certification notes: prize purses are listed for course and world record performances and for top finishers; the 100 and 50 mile courses hold IAU Golden Label recognition and USATF/World Athletics certifications.
