Triathlon ÉPIQ
Triathlon ÉPIQ is presented as an extreme, semi-autonomous triathlon set in a natural environment with a high level of difficulty. The swim takes place in open water in Lake Memphremagog. The bike stage follows gravel roads in the Canton of Potton and includes some forest trail sections. The run is partly on trails and gravel roads, including the ascent and descent of Mont Owl's Head, whose summit rises to over 500 meters.
For the 2025 edition the organizers scheduled multiple triathlon and duathlon races; the event also offers various distances and team formats. One example of a half-long format listed for an edition includes:
- Swim: 1900 m in Lake Memphremagog
- Bike: 85 km on gravel roads and trail sections, with 1800 m elevation gain
- Run: 22 km on gravel and mountain trails, with 680 m elevation gain
The event emphasizes community and fundraising: each participant agrees to complete a fundraising commitment and the event's operational surplus is donated to the Centre d'action bénévole de la Missisquoi Nord. Triathlon ÉPIQ holds an ÉcoTQ Silver certification for its eco-responsible practices. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
