The Trails & Tarmac 12hr Backyard Ultra is scheduled for 15 November 2025 in Crickhowell, Powys, set in the Black Mountains. The event is organised by Limitless Trails. Format and rules
The race uses a loop of 4.2 miles repeated hourly. The first eleven loops must each be completed within an hour. The twelfth loop is a timed race; the winner is the fastest person on the final loop. The overall event cap is 12 hours. Timing will be available, though loop timing is described as optional.
The course is roughly 50/50 trail and tarmac, with one gradual climb, one short steep section, and otherwise relatively flat terrain. Medals are given for each completed loop and there is a special medal for reaching 32 miles. Trophies are awarded to first, second and third place finishers. Common aid will be available at headquarters with hot and cold food and water. Medics, showers and toilets will be on site. Supporter rules include no supporters in the starting corral, no phone calls to or from runners on course except in emergencies, and the kitchen area is staff only.
