Trails 4 Tails - Codorus State Park, Hanover, PA

Trails 4 Tails is a trail running event held at Codorus State Park offering multiple race options on a looped course. The route includes about a mile of pavement, open fields, winding singletrack, and a shoreline section when conditions allow. Runners pass the Chestnut Orchard, the site of Rummel Farm, and the historic Mary Ann Furnace area. The course direction alternates by year, with odd years clockwise and even years counterclockwise.

• 40 Mile Ultra, 7 loops of 5.72 miles, ~4,200 feet gain
• 40 Mile Relay, up to 7 runners, 7 loops of 5.72 miles
• 25K+, three loops of 5.72 miles, ~1,800 feet gain

The start and finish area is Pavilion #1, where a fully stocked aid station and restrooms are located. The aid station offers Tailwind, Coke, Ginger Ale, bacon, pierogies, quesadillas, grilled cheese, pickles, and a variety of sweet and salty snacks. The 40 mile event has an 11 hour overall cutoff and a hard aid station cutoff at 4:00 p.m. after which runners must leave for their final loop. The relay also has an 11 hour cutoff. The 25K has a 7.5 hour cutoff.

Camping is available at Codorus State Park near the start and finish. Hanover is about 10 minutes away and York about 25 minutes away. A race day picnic with classic cookout foods will be held during the event. Awards are given to the top 40 finishers in the 25K and 40 mile events, plus custom first place awards for both female and male in each of those races.
