Trails 4 Tails is a trail race held at Codorus State Park near Hanover, PA on September 19, 2026, organized by York Ridge Runners. The event offers multiple course options and uses Pavilion #1 as the start and finish area, where restrooms and a fully stocked aid station are available.
Distances
- 40 Mile Ultra: seven loops of 5.72 miles (approximately 40 miles)
- 40 Mile Relay: seven loops of 5.72 miles for teams
- 25K: three loops of 5.72 miles (approximately 17.2 miles)
The course mixes terrain including about a mile of pavement, open fields, winding singletrack, and a lakeshore stretch when conditions allow. Runners pass through the Chestnut Orchard, the Rummel Farm site, and the historic Mary Ann Furnace area. The 40 Mile Ultra totals about 4,200 feet of elevation gain; the relay has about 600 feet of elevation gain per loop; the 25K totals about 1,800 feet of elevation gain.
Aid station offerings include Tailwind, Coke, ginger ale, bacon, pierogies, quesadillas, grilled cheese, pickles, and a variety of sweet and salty snacks. The 40 Mile Ultra and the relay have an 11 hour overall cutoff; the ultra also has a hard aid station cutoff at 4:00 p.m. The 25K has a 7.5 hour cutoff. Teams in the relay may include up to seven runners. Camping is available at the park, and a race picnic or cookout is planned during the event.
