Trails 4 Tails : Codorus State Park, Hanover PA

Trails 4 Tails is a trail running event held at Codorus State Park in Hanover, PA, organized by York Ridge Runners on September 19, 2026. The event uses a looped course that starts and finishes at Pavilion #1, where restroom facilities and a fully stocked aid station are available.

Distances

• 40 Mile Ultra: seven loops of 5.72 miles, ~40 miles, ~4,200 feet gain
• 40 Mile Relay: seven loops of 5.72 miles, teams may include up to seven runners
• 25K: three loops of 5.72 miles, ~17.2 miles, ~1,800 feet gain

The course includes a mix of terrain: about a mile of pavement, open fields, winding singletrack, and a shoreline section when conditions allow. Runners pass the Chestnut Orchard, the site of Rummel Farm, and the Mary Ann Furnace area. The aid station provides Tailwind, Coke, Ginger Ale, bacon, pierogies, quesadillas, grilled cheese, pickles, and a variety of sweet and salty snacks.

Event logistics include an 11-hour overall cutoff for the ultra and relay, a hard aid station cutoff at 4:00 p.m., and a 7.5-hour cutoff for the 25K. Teams may assign loops in any order. Camping is available at the state park, and Hanover and York are nearby. A race picnic is planned and finisher awards are given for top finishers in each distance.
