Trails 4 Tails takes place at Codorus State Park in Hanover, PA and offers trail running in a natural and historic setting. The event includes several race options and is centered at Pavilion #1, which provides restrooms and a fully stocked aid station.

The course mixes terrain, including about a mile of pavement, open fields, winding singletrack, and a shoreline section when conditions allow. The route passes the Chestnut Orchard, the site of Rummel Farm, and the Mary Ann Furnace area. The course direction alternates by year, with odd years run clockwise and even years run counterclockwise.

The 40 Mile Ultra is seven loops of 5.72 miles, approximately 40 miles total with about 4,200 feet of elevation gain. The relay uses the same seven-loop format; teams may include up to seven runners and members may run one or multiple loops. The 25K covers three loops of 5.72 miles, about 17.2 miles total with roughly 1,800 feet of elevation gain.

The aid station offers Tailwind, Coke, Ginger Ale, bacon, pierogies, quesadillas, grilled cheese, pickles, and a variety of sweet and salty snacks. The ultra and relay have an 11 hour overall cutoff and a hard aid station cutoff at 4:00 p.m. The 25K has a 7.5 hour cutoff. Camping is available at the park and a race picnic or cookout is held during the event. Awards include top 40 finishers in each race and custom finisher awards for first place female and male.
