Memorial 5K Trail Run at Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center

The event is a memorial 5K trail run and accompanying activities held at Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center, Sports Field Parking Lot, 1745 Rayville Road, Parkton, Maryland 21120. The event supports a scholarship fund for students and campers who could not otherwise afford to attend Genesee Valley.

Distances and options:

• 5K : 3.10686 miles
• 1 Mile Walk : 1 mile
• Kids Dash : short grass dash
• Team entries and an In Spirit donation option are also offered.

Registration details vary by category. Early bird individual registration is $35 through August 1, 2026; regular individual registration is $40 starting August 2, 2026; race day individual registration is $50. Team entries are $30 per runner. The In Spirit option is $35. Kids Dash registration is free. All registrations include a t-shirt. No refunds or transfers are permitted.

Course information: the 5K route runs across the 150-acre property through woods, trails, fields, and ponds. The 1 mile walk uses trails and fields. The Kids Dash is a short sprint on grass through the finish chute.

Awards include top three male and female overall, top three male and female in listed age groups, and the team with the most entrants. Event guidelines prohibit baby joggers, strollers, roller blades, skates, bikes, pets, and headphones on the race course. Race numbers must be worn on the front and not exchanged.

A post-race festival will offer food, music, and beverages with food available for purchase on site. Attendees may bring a blanket or chair. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
