Trails 4 Miles

Trails 4 Miles is an annual trail event held at Sherando Park, now in its seventh year. The primary running event is a mixed-surface four mile course that uses paved paths and wooded sections within the Sherando Park mountain bike trail system. The event program also includes a one mile fun run or walk on the paved park path and a newly added mountain bike time trial.

Event distances and formats:

  • 4 Miles, mixed-surface trail on paved and wooded mountain bike trails
  • 1 Mile, untimed out-and-back on the paved Sherando Park path with a course marshal
  • 5.3 Miles, mountain bike time trial on Sherando Park mountain bike trails, individual timed starts

The mountain bike time trial is a new addition for 2026 and uses a timed, individual-start format. The one mile run is untimed and follows an out-and-back layout with a marshal at the turnaround; it starts shortly before the four mile race. Registration opens on May 15 and fees listed for the events include $25 for the four mile race, $15 for the one mile fun run, and $25 for the mountain bike time trial. Packet pickup and race day registration take place at the start/finish area on race day.

All event proceeds will benefit the I’m Just Me Movement. The venue address is 100 Line Drive, Stephens City, VA 22655. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
