Event Overview
This event takes place at the Third Winchester Battlefield in Winchester, Virginia. The event offers a virtual run option for those not attending in person. A portion of the proceeds benefits Operation Enduring Warrior, a nonprofit supporting wounded military service members.
Distances
The event features three race distances on the same day:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half marathon
Course Details
The route is on trails, primarily on light gravel and dirt paths. The courses are loop-based: the 5k is one loop, the 10k is two loops, and the half marathon consists of three loops with an additional out-and-back section each lap. Walkers are welcome at the event.
Registration & Inclusions
Registration fees increase after July 31, 2026, and again on race morning. Runners registered before July 29 are guaranteed a technical event shirt. All participants receive a finisher's medal, and the event is chip-timed.
On-Site Information
Packet pickup and race day registration are available at the event. Participants are advised to arrive one hour before their race start. Parking is located near the practice fields at Millbrook High School, accessible via 251 First Woods Dr. Restrooms (port-a-johns) are available near the start/finish line.
Multiple water stations are provided along all courses, with some offering Gatorade. Water station locations are listed by approximate mile markers and are subject to change.
Results & Awards
Live results are posted online, and a QR code is available at the race for immediate access. Awards are given to the top three overall men and women, as well as to the first and second place in various age categories. Overall winners are not eligible for age group awards. Event photos are typically posted on social media after the race.
Series Participation
Participation earns points for the organizer's Year-Long 5k, 10k, Endurance, and Back of the Pack series, as well as the Summer Series. The "Back of the Pack" designation is a series for participants with paces above a specified time, not a race cutoff. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
