Trail Town Ten

Trail Town Ten is a community running event in Ridgway, Colorado, held on Palomino Trail near the Uncompahgre River. It includes two measured courses that use local dirt roads and offer open views of the San Juan Mountains, including the Sneffels range and the Cimarrons. The 10 mile course follows a lollipop route east of Ridgway. The 5 mile course is an out-and-back that covers the first 2.5 miles of the 10 mile course. Wildlife that may be seen along the route includes elk, coyotes, turkeys, hawks, and eagles. Race proceeds benefit the Uncompahgre Watershed Partnership.

The event is coordinated with Ridgway RiverFest, which offers food, beverages, and activities along the Uncompahgre River later the same day. Both races start and finish on Palomino Trail across from Ace Hardware; the published route notes to turn east at the town traffic signal and then right on Palomino Trail. Parking is available along either side of Palomino Trail and on County Road 12; local business parking lots should not be used. Aid stations are placed on each course: the 5 mile race has stations at mile 2 and mile 4, and the 10 mile race has stations at mile 2, mile 5, and mile 8. Registration fee for each event is $25.00.
