Trail Run Xtreme takes place on Sunday, May 17, 2026, on the Outback Trail at Imagination Glen East and along the Iron Horse Heritage Trail in Portage, IN. The event uses woodsy single track that is roughly 95% shaded. The route includes roots, hills, logs, mud puddles, twists and turns, and possible water crossings. The start area goes around soccer fields to spread runners out. The course will be marked with flags, signs, tape and staffed by volunteers.
Distances
- 12K Trail Race: open to all ages
- 3K Kids Race: open to ages 14 and under
Fees listed for the event are $40 for the standard 12K entry and $20 for the 3K kids race. A special youth price of $20 is available for 12K entrants 18 and under. Registered participants receive an official 2026 event shirt (size guaranteed if ordered by May 1) and a post-race meal with fruit and snacks. Bug spray will be provided before the race.
Awards include Overall Male and Female, Masters Male and Female, age-group awards for 1st through 3rd place across standard age brackets, Clydesdale and Athena awards, and recognitions for the first male and female finisher from each military branch.
