Overview

This is the 45th annual YMCA Brickyard Run, which includes three events:

  • A 5 Mile Race
  • A 5K Race
  • A 2K Family Fun Run and Walk

The 5 Mile Race is a Calumet Region Striders Gold Cup Race for runners aged 15 and over. The 5K Race is a Calumet Region Striders Gold Cup Race for runners aged 14 and under. The 2K Family Fun Run and Walk is a new, non-competitive event this year.

Event Details

The event takes place at Hobart Middle School in Hobart, Indiana. The race uses computerized "On the Bib" timing.

The race course starts on 8th Street, heads into the Oak Savannah Trail, and finishes on Lake Park Avenue at Kate Corgan Field. Both the 5K and 5 Mile races start and finish at the same points, but have different turn-around points on the Oak Savannah Trail.

Registration and Pricing

Registration includes a shirt, though a shirt is not guaranteed for registrations after June 7th. Standard prices are $30 for the 5 Mile or 5K race, and $20 for the 2K Fun Run/Walk. Prices increase after June 5th. There is discounted pricing for children aged 10 and under. The event also offers a Triple Crown Challenge bundle for three YMCA races.

Race day registration is available. The event's proceeds support the YMCA Income-Based Scholarship program. No refunds are issued if a runner is unable to participate.

Awards

The event awards trademark "Brick" awards to the top three male and female finishers in each age group, as well as to overall winners, masters winners (40 and over), and participants in the Clydesdale (210+ lbs) and Athena (170+ lbs) divisions.
