Trail Golf Endurance Challenge
The Trail Golf Endurance Challenge is a one-day, staged trail race held at Creekside Trails and the Trailyard Outpost area in Valparaiso, IN on June 27, 2026. The event uses a golf-style scoring system: competitors run a series of timed routes called "Holes" and the lowest cumulative stroke score determines placement.
Each Hole is run together at the top of the hour. Holes are about 3–4 miles in length; scoring windows convert finishing times into stroke scores using golf terms (Eagle, Birdie, Par, Bogey, etc.). For scoring examples, Eagle counts as 2 strokes, Birdie as 3, Par as 4. There are nine Holes for the 50K and three Holes for the 10-mile distance. In case of a tie in strokes, the tiebreaker is the lowest cumulative time on course.
Key course and support notes:
- 50K – nine Holes, roughly 1700 ft total elevation gain
- 10M – three Holes, roughly 500 ft total elevation gain
Average elevation gain per Hole is about 190 ft. There are no aid stations on course; runners must carry hydration and fuel. Water, Tailwind electrolyte drink, and light snacks are available near the start/finish for runners only. The event is cupless; participants must bring reusable containers for refills. Relay teams may include two or three runners, with only one team member on course at a time. Runners may set up a small tent or canopy no larger than 10'x10' within 50 yards of the start/finish.
