Jennie Hamilton Memorial 5 Mile Trail Run
The event is a 5 mile trail run held at Stoney Run County Park in Hebron, IN. The race date was moved to Memorial Day in 2026. The course will be marked with flags and arrow signs at major turns.
Timing is handled with an old school system: finishers receive a stick to return as soon as possible for their recorded time. There will be no formal awards ceremony; overall and age group medal winners receive their medals when they turn in their timing stick.
All registrants receive a water bottle. An aid station offering water and Gatorade is located a little past mile three. Additional water, Gatorade, and snacks will be available after the race. Runners who expect to need more fluids are advised to bring a personal hydration system.
Trail conditions may include mud, standing water, insects, and a pond crossing near the end of the course. A detour option avoids the pond and adds about 0.10 mile. Participants are advised to bring extra clothes for after the run and consider insect repellent.
The event is part of the Crazy Legs Race Series, which organizes races on non pavement and pavement courses in Northwest Indiana parks and states a welcome policy for transgender participants. A land acknowledgement recognizes the Miami, Shawnee, Illinois, and Lenape peoples. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
