Jennie Hamilton Memorial 5 Mile Trail Run
The Jennie Hamilton Memorial 5 Mile Trail Run is an off-road running event held at Stoney Run County Park in Hebron, Indiana. Taking place on Memorial Day, the event features a single distance for participants:
- 5 mile trail run
The course is marked with flags and arrow signs at major turns. Runners should expect natural trail conditions, which may include mud, insects, and standing water. A unique feature of the course occurs at the end, where participants have the option to cross a pond. Those who prefer to stay dry can take a detour, which adds approximately 0.10 miles to the total distance.
The event utilizes traditional timing methods. Upon crossing the finish line, participants receive a stick to be turned in for scoring. Medals are awarded to the overall male and female winners, as well as the top three finishers in each age group, immediately after sticks are submitted.
An aid station providing water and Gatorade is located slightly past the 3 mile mark. Post-race refreshments, including water, Gatorade, and snacks, are available for all participants. Every registered runner receives a water bottle. Facilities at the park allow for a change of clothes after the run. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
