Tour de Trail: Shawnee Mission Park South

This is a Trail de Trail series 10k-style trail race held at Shawnee Mission Park South in Shawnee, KS. The event is part of a six-stage series that visits different trail systems in the Kansas City area; stages vary roughly between 5.5 and 6.5 miles and are aimed to be close to 10K. The series offers a discounted combined registration option and a special finisher award for athletes who complete all six races.

The race uses clock timing and results are posted on UltraSignup. The start location for this stage is Shelter 10. The entry fee for singular races is $50, with $5 of each entry donated to Urban Trail Co; race-day registration and alternate payment options are available.

Aid on course consists of water only. This is a cupless event: participants must provide their own hydration device such as a handheld or hydration vest to use aid stations. Cold fizzy water, soda, and light snacks are provided at the finish area.

Course marking will use distinctive flagging and will be explained in the pre-race briefing. Alternate courses may be used if trail sections are closed. Runners are responsible for following the marked course and for safe road crossings. Race rules include no littering, no poles except by medical exemption, no alcohol in county parks, and leashed dogs are allowed. Kids under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Awards include first, second, and third woman, man, and non-binary podiums; all participants receive a handmade finisher award specific to the stage.
