Night Wolf 5K/10K
The Night Wolf event in Kansas City, KS is the 4th annual edition of two evening trail races held at Shelter 2, Wyandotte County Lake Park. The event offers separate 5k and 10k races and an option to run both as a combined distance.

Both races revisit earlier course layouts. The 5k uses a familiar course with a small extension to reach the distance. The 10k runs the trails in the opposite direction and includes a route to the triangle and back. Trails are described as bridle trails rather than groomed mountain bike trails and can vary by year, with the possibility of mud and water. Approximate elevation gain is 500 feet or more for the 5k and 650 feet or more for the 10k. The 5k is presented as family friendly and has attracted young participants and first time trail racers. The return portion of the 10k will require a headlamp while the 5k does not.
Parking and packet pickup are located at Shelter 2. Both races start at this location. Awards are given to overall winners for each race and for the combined result by male and female categories. There is a random prize drawing, a light piece of swag, and pizza and beverages provided after the races. Registration closes Wed, Jul 29.
