Tissington Trail Half Marathon and 10k Weekend

The Tissington Trail January Half Marathon and 10k Weekend is a multi-terrain running event held in Ashbourne, Derbyshire. The course follows the Tissington Trail, which is a traffic-free route situated on the former railway line connecting Ashbourne to Buxton. Participants can choose to compete on either Saturday or Sunday, or participate on both days of the weekend.

The event offers two distinct distances:

  • 10k

The route is characterized by its natural surroundings, offering views over the Derbyshire Dales. The course profile features a gentle uphill gradient on the outbound section and a slight downhill gradient for the return leg heading toward the finish. Race headquarters are located at the Ashbourne Leisure Centre on Clifton Road, which is approximately a ten-minute walk from the start line on Mappleton Road.

Participants receive a bespoke medal and access to free digital race photographs. Trophies and prizes are awarded to leading runners. Experience an 18km trail run through the Peak District from Hayfield to Rushup Edge. Enjoy a flexible start window on a well marked route featuring 806 metres of ascent and local support.

Experience a 50 km trail loop through the scenic Peak District starting from Hayfield. This self-navigating ultra marathon follows the Pennine Way and Limestone Way, offering 1840 metres of ascent for all experience levels.

A 34 km loop through the scenic White Peak area visiting historic villages and Chatsworth Park. This volunteer run event features 825 meters of ascent and concludes with stunning views along the gritstone edges.

The Chicken Run features two fell running routes in the Peak District. Held at Hayfield Primary School, it includes homemade refreshments and raises funds for the school. The event has a permit from the Fell Runners Association for safety.
