The Woldsman takes place at Driffield Showground in Driffield, East Yorkshire on 11 to 12 April 2026. The event is organised by LDWA - East Yorkshire and uses routes over the Yorkshire Wolds. Distances offered:

  • 30 miles
  • 50 miles

The 50-mile route must be completed within 20 hours. There is a checkpoint cut-off at 25 miles (Thixendale).

Logistics, entry and requirements

Entries open 1 August 2025 and close 4 April 2026. The entry fee is £30. The minimum age is 18 or older. Entries recorded so far: 274 participants. Withdrawals made before 4 April 2026 receive a refund of the entry fee; withdrawals after that date forfeit the fee.

Free car parking is available at the showground. Camping space is available from Friday 16:00 to Sunday 11:00. Food and drink are provided at all checkpoints. Finishers receive a badge, a certificate and a meal. Retirements must be made at checkpoints only.

Required equipment includes Map O/S Explorer 294/295/300 and compass, waterproofs, a first aid kit and survival bag, a mug (no mug = no drink), and extra clothing to keep warm. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

Take on the rugged North York Moors at Hardmoors 26.2 Goathland, a scenic but demanding 27.5 mile trail marathon. Expect big climbs, unmarked routes requiring map reading, and coastal views in a friendly series atmosphere.
