The Woldsman

The Woldsman is scheduled for Saturday 11 to Sunday 12 April 2026 at Driffield Showground in East Yorkshire. The event offers two long distance courses that start and finish at the showground.

The event is organised by LDWA - East Yorkshire. Entries opened on 1 August 2025 and closed on 4 April 2026; the event is currently full and a waiting list is in operation with 60 people listed. Entries so far number 350. The minimum age for participants is 18. The entry fee is £30. Withdrawals made before 4 April 2026 receive a refund; entries withdrawn after that date forfeit the fee.

Facilities and rules include free car parking at the showground and camping available from Friday to Sunday. Food and drink are provided at all checkpoints. Participants receive a badge, a certificate and a meal at the finish. Retirements must be made at checkpoints only.

The 50 mile course must be completed within 20 hours and a 25 mile cutoff applies at Thixendale. The minimum kit required includes an Ordnance Survey Explorer map 294/295/300 and compass, waterproofs, a first aid kit and survival bag, a mug for drinks, and extra warm clothing.
