The WitchWood Run - Inverkip, 16 May 2026

The WitchWood Run is a 24 hour looped trail event held at Everton Scout Camp in Inverkip, Scotland. The course uses Leapmoor Forest trails and fields and is presented within the context of local witch trial history from 1640 to 1690.

Participants run repeated laps of a measured loop. Each lap is 5.9 km (about 3.7 miles) with 185 m of elevation gain per lap. Runners may complete as many laps as they wish during the 24 hour period and may stop or rest at any time.

Basecamp facilities at Everton Scout Camp include camping space, kitchen facilities, showers, toilets, coffee and water. There are beds available on site at basecamp. Dogs are permitted at basecamp but are not allowed on the course loop.

The event offers tiered finisher medals: a bronze medal for all finishers, a silver medal for those completing over five laps, and a black medal for those completing over fifteen laps or a combined twenty laps for pairs. Entry options and fees are published for 5 lap festival entries, individual full 24 hour entries, and pairs entries. The event is organised by Dirt & Distance Run Co and lists Ardgowan Hospice as its charity partner.

The event includes food vendors, live music, and a communal firepit to support a festival atmosphere for families, friends and supporters. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
