The WitchWood Trail Run

The WitchWood Trail Run is an endurance event located at Everton Scout Camp in Inverkip, Scotland. The event takes place in an area historically known as a center for witch trials between 1640 and 1690. Participants navigate a course that combines Scottish forest trails, fields, and technical sections with rolling hills.

The event follows a loop format where participants can complete as many laps as they choose within a 24-hour period. The course consists of a 5.9 km (3.7 miles) loop with 185m of elevation gain per lap. Runners have the flexibility to start, stop, and rest at any time during the duration of the event.

Available entry categories include:

  • Individual 24-hour entry
  • Pairs entry
  • 5-Lap entry

The event basecamp is situated on a large grass area at the start and finish line. Facilities include on-site toilets, showers, kitchen access, and outside mains water. On-site accommodation options include indoor beds and a designated camping area where runners and supporters can pitch tents.

The event features a communal firepit, local food suppliers, and live music. All participants receive a timing chip, bib number, and a hand-crafted finisher medal featuring mystical imagery. Medical support is provided on-site, and the course is fully signposted and marshalled. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
