The Witches Whisk is a Halloween series race held at Pengethley Manor, Ross-on-Wye (what3words: physical.growth.shelf). Entrants choose a target distance from the following options:

  • 5k (two laps of 2.5k)
  • 10k
  • Half Marathon
  • Marathon
  • Ultra

Each lap is 2.5 km. There is a 7-hour time limit to complete the chosen distance. The course is offroad and contained within the grounds of Pengethley Manor. The route includes a hill on each lap and a series of up-and-down sections through two vineyards. The event is described as suitable for walkers and runners.

Entry, medals and event rules

Entry fees listed include Race Entry £29.00, Virtual UK Entry £25.00, and Virtual Overseas Entry £39.00. A charity option is available for a £10.00 entry fee plus charges, on the condition that the entrant raises at least twice the entry fee amount for the nominated charity. All race fees are non-refundable. Entrants must be aged 18 or over. Entries may be deferred to the next edition for a £15.00 fee up to four weeks before the event. Personal cancellation insurance is available through Event Protect Limited.

Paid virtual entrants can receive a medal after verification of their run; free virtual participation is recorded on results but does not include a medal. International postage for medals may incur extra charges. Participants are responsible for their fitness, health, and staying on course. Join the 12 Drummers Drumming Run on 18 December 2025 at Pengethley Manor, Ross on Wye for off road laps through vineyards with a cheeky hill each circuit. Pick a distance from 5k to ultra and enjoy a friendly walkers and runners vibe.

Celebrate early with The Early Christmas Present, a timed loop along the peaceful Stroud Waterways canal where you can run from 5k up to ultra on flat towpath. Limited places, bespoke finisher memento and virtual entry available.
