Trail Running in Wirral Country Park

The Wirral Summer Trail Series is a recurring running event held at Wirral Country Park. The August edition takes place on the third Tuesday of the month, serving as the final installment of a five-month series that begins in April. The event is based at the Visitor Centre on Station Road.

Participants compete on a trail course that remains consistent throughout the series. The featured distance for the event is:

  • 8 km (approximately)

The competition is open to all runners who are at least 16 years of age. Registration is available for individual races or as a full series package. Participants who complete at least four out of the five races in the series receive a T-shirt.

Trophies are awarded based on the cumulative results of the entire series. Individual standings are determined by a runner's best four performances across the five events. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as winners in various age categories starting from Under 18 and Under 20 through to Over 70. The event supports a charitable cause, with proceeds following expenses directed toward Running Headfirst. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
