Event

The White Horse Gallop is a roughly 12K trail run on bridle paths and along the Imber Range that goes close to the Westbury White Horse. It takes place on 18 October 2026. The event uses Leighton Recreation Centre, Wellhead Lane, Westbury, BA13 3PW, as the start and finish location. A GPX route file is available.

Logistics and rules

Places are limited to 200. Entries are open until 1 October 2026 or until the limit is reached; there are no entries on the day. Registration is available on race day between 09:00 and 10:00 where competitors collect race numbers. Race numbers must be secured to the front of the top and be clearly visible at the finish.

The event is open to runners aged 16 years or older on race day. Headphones and dogs are not permitted. Two water stations will be provided. Facilities include toilets, refreshments for purchase, first aid cover, and public liability insurance.

Prizes are awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female finishers, and in veteran categories V40, V50, V60 and V70 for male and female. All finishers receive a bespoke medal. Parking is limited at Leighton Recreation Centre (BA13 3PT); a pay-and-display car park on Warminster Road (BA13 3PE) is about a ten-minute walk from the venue. Merchandise is offered for purchase.
