The Timp Trail Marathon and Half, May 16, 2026
The event takes place in Orem, UT, with both races starting and finishing at Timpanogos Park. The race offers two distances:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
The marathon course has 5,883 feet of elevation gain and is composed of 99.9% mountain trail and fire break roads. Only a few road crossings include asphalt. The route includes technical ascent and descent sections and is described as highly scenic. Weather and surface conditions may include snow, rain, mud, possible stream crossings, and abundant rocks.
Participants are expected to know the course, run with someone who knows the course, or be able to follow course descriptions or GPX course maps. The organizer notes that the race should be treated like an ultra-distance event; there will not be porta-johns, mile markers, spectators, or volunteers directing runners along the course.
The marathon course layout is new for this year but follows the same route as the previous year, with start and finish remaining at Timpanogos Park. Registration closes Friday, May 15 at 11:59 PM MT. Late registrants are not guaranteed a race shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
