Course, safety and prizes

The course runs clockwise on Alta ski area trails on the Salt Lake Ranger District, Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. The route begins at the base of Goldminer’s Daughter (elevation 8,650 ft) and follows service roads and single track up Albion Meadows, through subalpine fir, Engelmann spruce and aspen, past Alf’s mid-mountain (9,200 ft), to Collins (10,400 ft) and Sugarloaf Pass (10,500 ft), then up the ridge to Mt. Baldy summit (11,068 ft). Runners descend via the northwest ridge, pass Wildcat Lift (9,780 ft) and Watson Shelter (9,280 ft), and return to the start. Aid and hydration are provided at two aid stations and at the finish; an aid station is noted at Collins. The course description warns of loose rock and snowy sections and requires following flagging for safety. A strict cut-off applies at Alf’s Lodge/base of Sugarloaf chair (1.7 miles, 700 ft gain). Prize purses and gear awards are listed by category, and series points are awarded to the top 20 finishers across events. Registration is nontransferable and refunds are limited.
