Course and logistics
Both courses start and finish at the Butterfield Trailhead Regional Park and use single track trails around Butterfield and Yellow Fork Canyon. The marathon totals 26.2 miles with about +4,556 ft elevation and is roughly 72% dirt trail, 17% fire road, and 10% dirt road. The half marathon is 13.1 miles with about +1,950 ft elevation and is roughly 81% dirt trail, 9% fire road, and 8% dirt road.
Aid stations provide Tailwind, water, gels/waffles, fruit, and other snacks. The marathon has two widely spaced aid stations; the half has one. A hydration vest or bottle is required for the marathon and strongly recommended for the half. The course is marked with pink flags, ribbons, signs, and trail marshals; wrong-way routes are marked with red flags. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
