Course and logistics
Both courses are primarily dirt single track with sections of fire road and dirt road. Surface breakdowns: marathon about 72% dirt trail, 17% fire road, 10% dirt road; half about 81% dirt trail, 9% fire road, 8% dirt road. The marathon is described in three segments with listed mileages and elevation changes; the half has two segments with listed mileages and elevation changes. Aid stations supply Tailwind, water, Honey Stinger products, fruit, and other snacks. A hydration vest or bottle is required for the marathon and strongly recommended for the half. Course navigation uses pink flags, ribbons, signs, and trail marshals; red flags mark wrong-way routes. Awards are given for overall and age-division placings. Volunteers receive a credit toward future races and access to finish-area food. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
