Speedgoat Mountain Races

Speedgoat Mountain Races by UTMB are held at Snowbird in the Wasatch Mountains’ Little Cottonwood Canyon in Utah. The event takes place over a race weekend at a ski resort venue that provides on-site accommodations, dining options, and entertainment for families.

Race distances and basic metrics include:

  • 50 KM : 3450 m+ elevation gain, Running Stones 2
  • 31 KM : 2000 m+ elevation gain, Running Stones 2
  • 10 KM : 500 m+ elevation gain

Courses run on mountain trails with rocky terrain, sections of wildflowers, and summit viewpoints. Runners encounter steep ascents that lead to panoramic views at higher elevations. The races are presented within the UTMB World Series framework and use Running Stones as part of event metrics.

UTMB Cares US is active around these events as a program of The IRONMAN Foundation. Since 2003, IRONMAN and The IRONMAN Foundation programs have provided more than $55 million in giveback funding to over 10,000 nonprofit initiatives. The program has also provided grant funding for cleanup and restoration efforts on trails such as the Western States Trail. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
