The South Shields 10 Mile Race

The South Shields 10 Mile is a scenic running event held along the beautiful coastline of South Shields, starting at the iconic Souter Lighthouse National Trust site. The course heads north along the coast and The Leas before returning, offering runners stunning views of Marsden Rock, Frenchman's Bay, Sandhaven Beach, and even dolphins. Known for its friendly and supportive atmosphere, the race welcomes runners of all abilities and serves as a popular fitness benchmark ahead of the Great North Run.
