The Legacy is a trail race scheduled for January 9, 2027 in Sapphire, North Carolina, organized by Dirty Wolf Ultras. The event offers multiple distances and is based on looped trail terrain that runs through Gorges State Park and nearby trails around 976 Grassy Ridge Road.

The course uses marked trails with orange ribbon and yellow arrows. Organizers describe the route as a multi‑mile trail loop and note the course may be altered for weather; in wet conditions it may become a 7 mile out-and-back using the first portion of the route. Trekking poles are allowed and participants are asked to wear bibs visibly on the front.
An on-course aid station will provide basic food items such as pickles, cereal, pretzels, candy, fruit and bacon, plus water, Tailwind and a variety of sodas, and first aid supplies. Packet pickup is available the day before the race. The event has a 12 hour cutoff and awards handmade, unique finisher medals to completers.
Additional organizer rules state no dogs or strollers on course unless explicitly permitted, that entry fees are non-refundable, the event is private so unregistered participants are not allowed, and deferral requests must be made through the race director.
