Registration closes on Wed, Jan 14. The race honors the organizer's father and proceeds support research into brain deterioration and learning disabilities. Entry fees are non-refundable if the event is canceled, and the event is private so unregistered participants are not allowed.
Course and race details
The 1 Mile uses a paved route of two laps around the back soccer field. The 5K, 10K, and 50K begin on the soccer loop, follow the Spencer Mountain loop trails, and return. The trail is a mountain bike trail and is rated a 4 on a 10 difficulty scale. Flagging will use yellow ribbon and yellow arrows. Trekking poles are allowed and participants are asked to bring them.
Packet pickup is offered the day before, and day-of bib pickup is also available. Aid stations will offer basic food (pickles, cereal, pretzels, candy, fruit, bacon), water, Tailwind, a variety of sodas, and first aid supplies. The overall cutoff time for the event is 10 hours. Rules note that dogs and strollers are not allowed on the course unless a special exception is made. Medals are handmade pottery by BlueGill Pottery and are unique for each finisher.
