The 5k follows single track trails that meander along and cross Carrick Creek from the nature center, then climb toward Pinnacle Mountain before a short descent and a loop back to the start and finish area.
The 15k follows the 5k route for the first two miles and then climbs nearly 2000 feet over the first five miles to reach the high point at Pinnacle Mountain. The descent passes Bald Rock and other overlooks, and the route includes additional stream crossings, exposed roots, and jagged rocks as it winds back down the valley toward the finish.
At the finish there will be food and ice cold drinks. All participants receive a soft race shirt and finisher awards. Awards are listed for first, second and third overall, plus age group awards.
