The Raven 24-Hour

The Raven is a 24 hour track competition held at the Town Hall track in Mount Pleasant, SC, located at 100 Ann Edwards Lane. The course is a USATF certified 400 meter rubberized track that is record eligible. The track has shade and will be lit through the night. The field is limited to 40 entrants and registration closes on February 5. All entrants must join the event waitlist to be considered for entry.

Entry priority is given to runners who meet published "A" and "B" qualification standards within the last two years. Applicants will be reviewed and ranked with those meeting "A" standards given first priority and "B" standards second. Example standards include men 100k 7:30:00 and 100 miles 14:00:00, and women 24 hour 135 miles; full A and B standards apply by gender and distance.

Distances related to qualification and scoring include:

  • 100k
  • 100 miles
  • 24 hour

Timing will be electronic with an on-site display of laps and distances. Direction of travel will change every four hours. Runners may leave the track area but must remain inside the fenced venue and return to the same place before continuing to avoid double counting. The event provides two nearby porta-potties, an open gymnasium with showers and a kitchenette, and an aid station offering water, electrolyte drinks, sodas, snacks, limited hot foods, and coffee. Athletes should bring any special dietary supplies they require.

Results include a 100 mile split if reached and full 24 hour results for all entrants. National records will be submitted to USATF and world best performances to the IAU within ten calendar days. The organizer offers a partial deferral option if notified at least 30 days before the event. Volunteer roles include setup, aid station, timing, and breakdown.
