The Dirt Dash

The Dirt Dash takes place on Saturday, September 12, 2026 in Johns Island, SC at Johns Island County Park. The event offers multiple timed distances and is held on a looped trail course through open meadows and wooded areas with large oaks and Spanish moss.

The course is a roughly 3.3 mile loop that combines wide cross country type trails, single and double track, and a short grassy section. Distances require repeating the loop: participants complete one loop for the 5K, two loops for the 10K, four loops for the half marathon, and eight loops for the marathon. There is one aid station at the start and finish area stocked with water, electrolyte drink, and snack items. The event is cupless so participants should bring a cup, bottle, or hydration bladder for refills.

Packet pickup is offered the day before at a local running store and on race morning at the race tent. Camping in tents or RVs is available on site with a bath house that includes showers. Youth runners 14 and under are eligible for a 15 percent discount. Dogs are not allowed on the course during the race.

All distances have a seven hour cutoff. The event proceeds rain or shine unless local park authorities declare conditions unsafe. No refunds are issued; transfers, distance changes before the race, and race credit policies are provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
