Frozen: H3

Frozen: H3 is a multi-distance trail event held January 8-10, 2027 in Bethera, South Carolina, on the Jericho Horse Trail within the Francis Marion National Forest. Distances offered include:

  • 100 Mile
  • 50 Mile
  • 50K
  • 25K
  • Night 25K
  • 10K

The course uses two loop options, a 16 mile loop and an 18 mile loop, with participants running a combination of loops depending on their chosen distance. Trails include dirt fire roads, single track, and double track. The 10K is run as an out-and-back and has no aid on course, so runners should carry their own fluids for that distance. Looped routing allows runners to resupply from drop bags, crew, or the main start/finish area between loops.

Three aid stations are staffed and stocked: one at the start/finish and two on the course. Aid station supplies include a range of typical ultra snacks and some hot options overnight or early morning. Porta potties are provided at the start/finish and at both aid stations. Pacers are permitted for the 50 mile and 100 mile events at the halfway mark. Night running requires a light and appropriate backups. Dogs are not allowed on the course during the race. The event is part of a Swamp Series spanning multiple races in the forest and includes volunteer and discount programs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
