Frozen: H3 is a multi-distance trail running event held in Bethera, South Carolina, inside the Francis Marion National Forest on the Jericho Horse Trail. The event offers the following distances:
- 100 Miler
- 50 Miler
- 50K
- 25k
- Night 25k
- 10k
The course uses two loop options of about 16 and 18 miles, and consists of dirt fire roads, single track, and double track trail. The 10k is an out-and-back with a marked turnaround and no aid on course. The route is described as flat with little elevation change.
There are three fully stocked aid stations: one at the start and finish of each loop and two on the course. Aid station menus include common ultra snacks, cold drinks, and some hot options early morning and overnight; the main aid station will also serve prepared food items. Runners may keep drop bags at the start and finish and crew can access aid stations. Pacers are allowed for the 50 and 100 mile distances at the halfway mark.
Night running requires a personal light and spare power. Dogs are not permitted on the course during the race. Camping is permitted near the start and finish area; the site is informal and consists of roadside camping. Start/finish coordinates are 33.200976, -79.767657. The event is organized by Palmetto Ultras and is part of a Swamp Series that tracks cumulative miles across three races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
