Frozen: H3 : January 8–10, 2027
Frozen: H3 is a multi-distance trail event held in the Francis Marion National Forest near Bethera, South Carolina, on the Jericho Horse Trail. The event uses two looped course options of about 16 and 18 miles and a separate out-and-back 10k route; loop counts for each distance are provided in the runner guide. The trail surface includes dirt fire roads, single track, and double track and is described as flat with little elevation change.
Distances:
- 100 mile
- 50 mile
- 50k
- 25k (day)
- Night 25k
- 10k out-and-back with no on-course aid
There are three staffed aid stations: one at the start/finish and two on course. Aid stations offer standard ultra snacks and drinks; the main aid station will also serve hot and prepared food during the event. The two on-course stations will include some hot options in early morning and overnight hours. Porta potties are at the start/finish and at both aid stations. Runners must check in at each aid station and wear their bib on the front.
Pacer policies allow pacers for the 50 and 100 mile events at the halfway mark. Night running requires a personal light and spare power. Drop bags, crewing at aid stations, and limited roadside camping near the start/finish are permitted. The race is part of a Swamp Series that combines mileage from three events; entrants may opt into the series when registering. The event has time cutoffs for each distance and offers finisher medals, awards for top finishers, and specific swag for early registrants. Registration closes January 5, 2027.
