Hallucination - Johns Island County Park
Hallucination is a timed trail running weekend held at Johns Island County Park near Charleston, South Carolina. Participants run a 2.6 mile cross-country style loop repeatedly within their chosen timed event. The event offers multiple timed durations so runners may complete as many laps as they wish within that period.
- 34 hour event
- 24 hour event
- 12 hour event
- 6 hour event
The course is shaded and described as smooth relative to other park trails; each lap passes the start/finish area, tent city, and restrooms for easy access to crew and gear. One aid station at the start/finish will be stocked with common race snacks and drinks such as water, soda, coffee, Skratch Hydration Mix, chips, pretzels, gummy candy, and PBJ. The event is cupless; participants must bring their own cup, bottle, or bladder. Night running for the 12, 24, and 34 hour events requires a headlamp or waist light and appropriate backups.
Primitive camping with access to a bathhouse is included with registration; RV hookups with water and electricity are available for an additional fee and limited to 24 spots. Dogs are not allowed on the course during the race. The event runs rain or shine; there are no refunds but bib transfers are permitted and race insurance is offered at checkout.
Swag and awards include a hoodie for registrations by October 27, a finisher medal for completing at least one lap, top three male and female awards per duration, and a buckle for 100 mile finishers. A canopy decoration contest is new for 2026. Volunteer hours can be exchanged for race entry discounts. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
