The Proud Run

The Proud Run is an offroad race held within the grounds of Pengethley Manor, Ross-on-Wye (what3words: physical.growth.shelf). It is part of the organiser's Seven Deadly Sins race series and offers a choice of multiple distances with a single overall time limit. Entrants have up to seven hours to complete their chosen target distance.

Distances available:

  • 5k (two laps)
  • 10k
  • Half Marathon
  • Marathon
  • Ultra

Each lap measures 2.5 km. The course runs entirely within the manor grounds and includes a repeated hill section plus a series of ups and downs through two vineyards. The organiser describes the route as very tough and suitable for both walkers and runners. The event provides on-site facilities such as free parking, hot drinks, sandwiches and toilets.

A virtual option is offered so participants can complete an approved distance remotely; virtual entrants receive a personalised virtual bib and can have a medal posted after run verification. Paid entries receive a physical medal; international postage for medals incurs an extra charge. Entry fees are non-refundable. The event is open to walkers and runners of any age but those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. A charity-entry alternative is available at a reduced fee subject to a fundraising commitment and conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
