The Next Loop Endurance Series - Lake Carl Blackwell
The Next Loop is a loop-based trail event held on a marked 3.1-mile (5K) trail loop at Lake Carl Blackwell Park in Stillwater, OK. The format lets each participant decide how many laps to complete; every finished loop counts toward the total distance.
The event uses hourly starts for each loop. Loop times are recorded from the start of the hour to the finish line. Final results are ranked by the number of loops completed and the combined total time. There are no penalties for stopping; completed loops still count as the official result.
Distances based on completed loops:
- 1 loop = 5K
- 2 loops = 10K
- 4 loops = Half Marathon
- 9 loops = Marathon
- 10 loops = 50K
An aid station is available at the central base area before each loop to provide hydration and basic nutrition. The centralized loop format keeps support, crew, and spectators close to the course between laps.
Practical details include a flat entry fee of $100 and the event location at Lake Carl Blackwell, 11000 W Hwy 51, Stillwater, OK 74074. Registration closes on Fri, May 22 at 11:59 PM CT.
The event is presented by EverFurther Events and is intended for runners exploring longer distances as well as those testing endurance using a loop-by-loop approach. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
