The event is a continuous loop trail race held at Lake Carl Blackwell in Stillwater, OK. The course uses a 3.1 mile (5K) loop; runners complete 16 loops to reach 50 miles, with minor distance variation possible due to terrain. The race runs alongside The Next Loop Endurance Series and uses the same fully stocked start and finish aid station on every lap, providing regular access to fuel and supplies.

A 12 hour hard cutoff applies to the 50 mile distance. The format is a continuous run rather than an hourly competition. The field is limited to 75 runners and the race begins with a mass start among 50 mile competitors. Chip timing records splits for every completed 5K loop and overall finishing time determines placement, with real time loop splits available for athletes and crews.

Support and logistics include a dedicated 50 mile staging area, the ability to stage personal gear at a vehicle or in a designated area, and medical and safety oversight consistent with ultra distance standards. Pacers are permitted beginning at 4:00 PM and must check in, wear official pacer identification, and enter and exit the course at the start and finish area only.
