Lake McMurtry Run
The Lake McMurtry Run is a trail event at Lake McMurtry West Recreation Area near Stillwater, OK. It offers multiple distances on single track trails that run through pines and along the lake shore. The course uses a loop on the west side of the lake; the longer distances include an out and back to the east side. The 50K course has about 2,600 feet of elevation gain.

Race entry includes a unique buckle or medal for each event finisher, complimentary race photos, fully stocked aid stations, post race meals, and a participant T shirt. Hoodies are available for separate purchase. Day permits for parking at Lake McMurtry can be purchased from the park and displayed as a hang tag or printed receipt on the dash.
Event rules note that trekking poles are allowed and dogs are permitted only on leash. Many participants walk or hike portions or entire distances. The event has evolved under several organizing groups since it began in 1999 and is currently run by the Outlaw organization. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
