The Skull Games Challenge

The Skull Games Challenge takes place at Lake Carl Blackwell in Stillwater, OK on May 23, 2026. The event was created in partnership between The Next Loop Endurance Series and Skull Games Solutions and combines loop-based trail running with additional task elements placed between loops.

Participants choose one of the following loop distances:

• 25K loop-based trail race
• 50K loop-based trail race

Optional challenge stations are positioned between loops. Tasks may include strength efforts, mental focus exercises, grappling or skill challenges, sandbag work, pushups, and real-world problem solving scenarios. Attempting a task can earn time deductions, while successful completion earns greater credit toward overall finishing time, adding a strategic element to pacing and race plans.

The format pairs physical endurance with task performance and problem solving. The event also notes an emphasis on resilience and building community on the trails by combining running, tactical elements, and group interaction during the race.
